Sores on neck, and how to stop them.

Post by Macsen191 » Fri Nov 06, 2015 1:29 pm

Hi guys,

I am new here, been on Bi-Pap for the last 2 years, and before that Cpap for a year, anyway, I got a new mask like 2-3 months ago and the straps that wrap around your head are leaving painful, ugly sores on my neck. Now I didn't have this problem when I first got the mask, but last month I chopped most of my hair off(It was down to the middle of my back, and now it's just below the ears.) and ever since I got a haircut I've been having this issue. I put a washcloth around the straps but that only helps a bit... is there anything else I can do? I need my mask to sleep because if I don't have it I don't sleep at night. Thanks for your input!

I don't have any answers, but might have the same symptoms, sores right where the strap crosses my jaw. Got new straps and it seems a bit better. Might try washing your straps, and maybe cover them with something soft?

Padacheek makes all sort of strap covers from polar fleece.

Perhaps the person that cut your hair used dirty scissors or razor. I have had that happen, I have short hair and have to get my back hairline cleaned up with a razor, within a week I had sores in the area..............NEVER went back to that hairdresser
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
