New to CPAP

Post by kevin0905 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 7:53 am

I am new to CPAP. I have had it since about February, I have a had a rough go at it so far. I wake up with really bad stomach pain, and a lot of gas.

I am willing to try anything to get a good nights rest that I haven't gotten in quite sometime.

I am 30 years old and a Navy veteran who did 2 two tours over seas and since then I don't sleep well at all. My doctors and wife seem to think that CPAP will help with that, using it I get better sleep but the Pain the next morning makes it not worth it.

I was wondering if you could recommend anything to me to help me become one of the people who praise CPAP.

Thank You for your time.

What position do you sleep in? I often get bloating from CPAP if I sleep on my sides. On my back, it is not a problem. It may be different for you.

Please go to the User Control Panel and fill out your Equipment Profile. Then tell us something about your therapy - machine settings, etc.

All of the regulars here use Sleepyhead software to manage our therapy - https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead

Do a forum search for aerophagia (the bloating pain) and find some helpful advice (like lowering the low setting of your machine just 1-2 cm).
