Dr. Park's nose plugs

Post by grybeard77 » Tue Nov 03, 2015 5:57 pm

Just found out my son in law needs CPAP and now uses these nose plugs while camping, and maybe even ever night. He says they work fine. Has any one heard of them or tried to use them? just what are they??

I'm guessing you are speaking of the product called Provent? If so, they were talked about quite a lot on here when they were new. Haven't heard anyone mention them lately. I'm curious too if anyone at this point is successfully using them even if just on occasion. Or maybe there's another product out there?

Dr. Park's nose plugs
There is no such thing.

Find out the actual name.

(Unless you are talking about the late Dr. Park who lived on N. Aspen Street. Maybe your son-in-law bought them at the estate sale? I wanted his 55 Ford, but some fools bid the price up beyond what it was worth.)

The nose plugs are called Provent. I can't recall if anyone on the board has any experience with them. Your son in law says they work fine...I wonder how he knows for sure... Even if they work...it's expensive. $70 month.

Dr Steven Y. Park recommends Provent, correct?
He doesn't own stock in the company, does he?
(What the heck was the choker taking about?)

Grybeard77, (wow, long time member!) do they look like these which CPAP.com our sponsor sells:

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

According to the 5/16/13 blog entry on this site, http://doctorstevenpark.com/tag/provent, he said he has had mixed results in his practice. It also looks like he commented on it in a 8/25/15 podcast. I tried to see if I could find the particular segment on Provent but my cursor refused to cooperate.

If he is not talking about nose plugs from the estate of the late Dr. Park on N. Aspen Street, then he has to be talking about Harmony Smiley's Nose Plugs. That's my best guess.
