Keep it for a spare/backup. "Murphy's Laws" apply to this therapy, too.

Well, most of us advocate having/keeping one or more backup/spare machines. There are too many stories about machines getting knocked/dragged off of nightstands during the night and just quitting or not starting for various reasons. Needless to say, it's always at the worst time possible and not convenient to take to a repair facility. Even new machines can break/malfunction and it's always good to have a spare. Even under warranty repair, it can take weeks to get one returned.

To use an automobile analogy, most people wouldn't deliberately go anywhere without a spare tire in their trunk. You wouldn't want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere if you had a flat.
