Update! Amara View mask

Post by Goofy Lady » Mon Oct 26, 2015 11:00 am

Hello,
I tried the new mask and it leaked so bad it wasn't even funny!
Its because, I am working with a really incompetent Sleep Tech. He gave me a large. I told him I was sized at a local medical place and a medium is what I need. He said, I need a large, so if I open my mouth it wont fall off. SO, he is the professional and so to my disappointment, I listened. This is going on three to 4 weeks now trying different masks. I don't think its all the masks fault. I think he has been giving me the wrong sizes.
I am going to ask for a medium today. But if that doesn't work, I have to wait another week to get a different mask! They only come to my town once a week and they are the only people who do.
I am looking into the Hybrid full face mask with nose pillows. My brother in law had an extra paid of nose pillows, so i tried that. only lasted an hour cuz im a mouth breather!
thanks again to every one!

Have you tried the Airfit F10? I would be glad to send you one at no charge that I received in a deal.

The arms go too close to my eyes, isn't it funny how everybody's face is different.

Hi! I'll take an airfit 10 if you don't need it. My amara tore after only a few months and I've been really suffering off of oxygen now.

I got an Amara View last week and fiddled with it for 3 days, unable to seal it around my nose. I made a micro-fleece liner and that didn't help. Because I like the mask, I wanted it keep working with it in order to make it work. Last night, I decided to try one more thing before returning it to the DME. I decided to try different headgear with it to see if that would help.

I use the Respironics Blue Mesh headgear on all my other masks, and thought I'd try it on the Amara View. I had to relocate the direction of the top straps because they were too close to my eyes with this mask. After doing that, it was just a matter of getting the right tension. The combination of different headgear and micro-fleece liner did the trick! I'm keeping the mask!

I have tried the Quattro FX for her and it leaked in the eyes.
So, you can give to another person. But you are wonderful to offer it! thanks!
