I had a visit with my doctor yesterday to go over my sleep study results. I have 33 apneas per hour and 95 during REM!!!.
After discussion with the doctor about the mask he is suggesting a C-flex and I have to go back next week for a fitting. How many different choices on the mask do I get?

How many do YOU get? Or how many SHOULD you get?yarns4u wrote:How many different choices on the mask do I get?
What YOU get depends on your Durable Medical Equipment supplier, how well stocked they are, and how open they are to working in your best interest.
The answer can range from "Here's the mask we give everyone. That's all that's available" to "Here, we'll try on about 8 different masks, and if those don't work, I can tell you about a few others we don't carry, but which I might be able to order for you, or you might be able to order on line".
Most people find something on the scale closer to the first than the second.
But the answer to the question how many are there, there are LOTS of different types of masks, and there's no one-size-fits-all. You'll find some people who swear by a mask that the majority swears AT. Conversely, you'll find a mask that's generally pretty well loved by most everyone that has one or two major detractors.
The advice I always give is: Start with the ResMed masks. They are consistently among the best. There are other good ones, but I don't know of a single ResMed mask that is *NOT* considered a good one.
And good luck!
