Restoril & Sleep Apnea

Post by lindsp » Mon Oct 19, 2015 3:21 pm

First of all, I am so thankful to have this forum!!

I was prescribed Restoril 30mg by my doctor and when I asked him if I could still take it when I have sleep apnea, he said he has treated many people with it who have this.

But.. on every single website that I get on to research this medicine, it says do not take if you have sleep apnea! Of course I am a big worry-wart and although you can't believe everything online, it just worries me that I could end up in a coma or something!

So my question is.. has anyone else taken it with SA? And am I just being silly with worrying?

Thank you!!

Hi lindsp,

My sleep doctor was ok with my using it with the machine but didn't want me to use it without it. Are you using a machine? If so, I wouldn't worry assuming your pressures are properly set.

If you're not using a machine, then you have to decide what you are comfortable with and if your doctor's answer is satisfactory.
