A question re EPR on the S8 Elite/Vantage

Post by dsm » Thu Aug 17, 2006 8:09 pm

Does anyone know what the built-in rise time is for EPR ?

If yes is it the same for all 3 settings ?

Hoping someone may know this info

Tks

The Users Manual doesn't cover anything close to that kind of info! I have looked around and have found nothing either. My best guess after using the Elite for a few months is that the rise time is pretty long as there is, to me anyway, a very smooth transition.

If you do get any info on this please share it with us.

The one good thing I can say about EPR is that it has reduced my mouth leaks to almost zero. The reduction of pressure on exhale really works. I have wondered, and maybe you have tested it, that a reduction of even more than 3 CM would benefit mouth leaks even more. Of course I don't know how a larger pressure reduction, as well as rise time etc., would effect my thearpy overall. I had a chance to get a Bi-PAP awhile back, I guess I should have did it.
