If they both go together, how come the majority of sleep apnea patients don't have fibromyalgia. I think you have received the wrong information.

As far as I know, Fibromyalgia and Sleep Apnea do not go together. It certainly could be that a person with Fibromyalgia might also have sleep apnea but it would be coincidental. Fatigue is a symptom of Fibro but that fatigue is not sleep apnea.

If you haven't already, do a Google search on "Obstructive Sleep Apnea and fibromyalgia" and start reading.

or "what is the relationship between fibromyalgia and sleep disorders"

I would be willing to bet that OSA would make fibro pain worse because sleep deprivation makes everything worse. Hope your therapy helps with that!

Could you be confusing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with OSA? It often goes with fibro.

When my sleep disorders were still tormenting me and I was in chronic pain, my doctor suggested it could be fibro. Turned out my Periodic Limb Movement Disorder was a major factor, and I think my sensitivity to the pain was exacerbated by the sleep deprivation. I have to wonder how often the effects of sleep disorders are misdiagnosed as either fibro or CFS. How long have you been treating your OSA? Just wondering if you've seen any improvement in your pain?
