For sale - Still Goode

Post by CRS » Sat Sep 05, 2015 8:09 pm

Hi Everyone,

Well I was rediagnosed as having RLS and *not* sleep apnea, so I have a CPAP machine for sale, if anyone is interested.

It's a Respironics REMstar Auto M Series with A-Flex, with heated humidifier, smart card, card reader, EncoreViewer software, Respironics hose cover, and padded travel case. It's an older model but is in excellent condition, has a new filter, and total usage is 469 hours. I also have a box full of CPAP masks and accessories, if anyone has ever wanted to play around with a box of different sizes & types of masks to see what works best for them.

Hope all is well here at CPAP Talk! This place was a wonderful source of support when I first got my CPAP machine.
M Series Auto w/A-flex, M Series HH, Mirage Liberty hybrid mask, Respironics hose snuggie.

Personally, I'm not interested, but thought I'd ask......

Out of curiosity, did you have a price in mind?
Were you going to list the masks (including sizes) and prices for them, too?

Glad to hear you didn't have sleep apnea.

Hi. I've spent some time reviewing your old posts as I didn't want to jump the gun with assumptions. Please tell me, do you have the results of the sleep study that gives the above rediagnosis that you can post? I am so very confused. For one, RLS is not generally diagnosed by a sleep study, and there is no way to tell you that you don't have OSA without a sleep study. I saw that early on there was some question as to the competency of those involved with your original sleep study, but I didn't see anything to make you question the diagnosis of OSA. With an RDI in your study of over 34, that's quite a bit of respiratory disturbance. Even on your nightly reports in auto mode your pressure did increase, so that seems to me to be an indicator there is some breathing compromise.

I truly am not trying to rain on your parade, but I would like to offer the possibility that it is too soon to sell your equipment. Please do post ant recent reports. Was there any mention of limb movements? Your first report said there were no limb movements. Were your legs wired in the first study? With all your breathing disturbances there could have been latent limb movements that just never had a chance to manifest. Apnea events and limb movements can mask each other. If this is going on with you, it could be that your legs are so active your apneas now don't get a chance to manifest - the reverse of what could have happened in your first study. I'd hate to have you sell your equipment and calm down your RLS, only to have the OSA resurface.

Of course, maybe you do just have RLS. Please tell us how they arrived at that. I'd suggest you set that auto machine with at it's lowest starting point and see what your data looks like. If your pressure rises and you show events, you are not free of OSA. Looking forward to hearing more from you. The interrelation of OSA and PLMD is of particular interest to me because I rode this roller coaster for a lot of years. I certainly hope I'm not just being an alarmist.

Most M.series offered around here get sold super cheap or are donated to charity. They are built to last but don't keep much value due to all the newer machines that replaced them years ago.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

The price isn't really important to me, I'd just thought it would be a nice setup for someone who doesn't have insurance or is on a very limited budget. I'd rather pass it along to someone who wants it than to throw it out, seeing as how it's in excellent working condition.
If anyone is interested just make me an offer, whatever you can afford to pay is fine.
The masks are mostly size Medium, full face. There's a couple of Mirage Libertys that are size S and L, respectively.
