This was funny

Post by RestlessRN » Tue Aug 18, 2015 10:24 pm

So I go my machine today. I ended up getting fitted with a Mirage FX for her nasal mask. It's okay. It fits fine and it's comfortable but I really dislike that I cannot wear my glasses with it on. I like to read in bed before sleep and aside from that, I'm practically blind without my glasses so I feel somewhat helpless when I can't wear them. I will probably try another mask from an online source since my DME had a VERY limited selection to choose from and this was the best of the two (yes, only two) nasal masks they had for me to try out. I was very excited to get my machine but it was QUITE obvious from the start that I knew a significant amount more about my machine than the person who was showing it to me. Here's the funny part: we were discussing the different menus and hes going on about what I won't be messing with (yeah right buddy, I'll change that if I need to) and we see the Airplane Mode option...he actually said, "I don't really see why this option would be available but I guess people who fly transatlantic might need to use their machine on the flight." *blink, blink* I had to pull out my nurse face and just nod slowly but inside I was all

Anywho, thought you guys might get a laugh out of it too. Also, I came home and got everything set up to go since I was going to be taking a nap (I had worked all night) and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had absolutely NO trouble adjusting to having the mask on. It took a little while to fall asleep since my adrenaline was pumping from being up for so long and from all the caffeine I had pumped into myself to stay awake for the hour drive down to the store after work and the hour drive back home afterward, but once I did, I slept for about four hours and my husband said I didn't snore once! He said I didn't make any noise at all, which is VERY unusual for me. I plugged my SD card into SH and saw that for my four hours of use, my AHI was 0.23. Yes, I know it's just one time and I need to watch my averages, but I'm happy for such an good start none the less.
