Air Oscillation on ResMed S9 Escape

Post by Drufus » Sat Aug 15, 2015 12:52 am

Hi, I've used CPAP for many years very successfully.

Yesterday I was given a new ResMed S9 Escape to replace my aging machine.

Last night when breathing in deeply I got oscillations (rather like forced breathing) at the deepest part of inhalation........ never had anything like this before, uncomfortable and certainly not the best night sleep ever.......could any of you kind folk offer any advice as tot he cause?

Many thanks,

The S9 escape is a brick, you should insist on getting a better machine. With a better machine you can look at the data to see what is happening breath by breath and make adjustments. The escape can't provide that data.
Current Settings PS 4.0 over 10.6-18.0 (cmH2O) - Resmed S9 VPAP Auto w/h5i Humidifier - Quattro Air FFM
TNET Sleep Resource Pages - CPAP Machine Database
Put your equip in your Signature - SleepyHead v1.0.0-beta-1

Only thing I can think of is a maybe.
Maybe the hose setting on the S9 doesn't match your hose. Like maybe your hose selection choice on the S9 is for slimline hose and the hose you are actually using isn't a slimline hose. The hose diameters must match.

The S9 series has been discontinued about a year now...and the Escape is a brick (no data)...it may not matter to you but just thought I would mention it.
