Numbers

Post by Tdub210 » Fri Aug 14, 2015 12:13 pm

Last night was my first full night all the way through with my machine. I had a half decent night the night before at 5 hours (1.8 AHI with 25% leak and 6.5 90% pressure) but last night was a full 8. I'm wondering about my numbers that I'm reading off the lcd screen on my machine. I'm not using SH because I tried and cannot get it to import my data. Anyway, last night I recall waking up 4 times but went straight back to sleep. I wasn't suffocating or anything, on the contrary, I was very comfortable. The last time I woke up was 2:30am and after that I didn't wake until 6am when the alarm went off. My readings are AHI 0.4, Leak 25, 90% pressure 6.5, and Sensawake 21. Should my pressure be higher than that? Does the sense awake mean i woke up 21 times? Does anyone with sense awake experience like it or have thoughts? My wife said I slept soundly with just a very slight snore for a short period. She heard me each time I woke as she's a light sleeper and kind of monitoring me. Anyway, just wondering if my numbers, albeit abridged, look ok.

Your numbers look good...it's way to early to start playing around with your pressure. You seem to be sleeping well...why would you want to make changes?....it's only been 2 nights.

Oh I don't want to make changes. I was just wanting to make sure I wasn't missing something. Plus, I read a post somewhere about Senseawake and I can't recall if it was positive or not.

I think that SensaWake means the machine thought you were awake (it may or may not be all that accurate) and adjusted the pressure accordingly...whatever it does which I think is a drop in pressure which would probably drive me crazy dropping down to that minimum so often. At least it doesn't have far to drop in your situation.
If pressure changes bug you...I would try turning Sensawake off.

Leaks are shown in L/min and 25 L/min average would be fairly typical for your mask and your pressure...it includes intentional vent rate so don't expect to see it drop down to single digits like ResMed users report.
Large leak territory for the Icon's is up around 60 L/min if I remember right....so you are well below large leak territory at least for the bulk of the night with the average being so low.

Thank you Pugsy. I just finished reading some old strings on Sensawake after noticing the search feature up above. And I think you're right, I read up on it on F&P's website and if it just drops to my minimum range, and it appears I'm spending a lot of time at my minimum, it's probably not really doing much for me. Looks like a lot of people simply turn it off. I'm not making any changes to anything at this point. I'm happy to have possibly turned the corner last night and I'm not messing with a thing at this point.
