REM Rebound

Post by gailzee » Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:17 am

First few wks other than getting used to apap, started feeling energized and more spring to my step. Now I'm back to kind of draggy, lethargic feeling, but do feel better somewhat overall I am going on 4 wks use now.

I have seen something on the board, REM rebound...is this an actual phenomena? Something others have noticed after a short time newbie use?

Sort of like at first feeling better/but--could feel better, kind of feeling?

What causes this, any ideas, thoughts?
Thanks!

Gailzee,

I'm still waiting for my REM rebound. Maybe if I can find the time to get 8 hours a night for a few weeks straight I'll catch-up on years of lost REM.

(Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...REMmmmmmmmm)
Sincerely,

Yes it is. Rem Rebound occurs when your body, being sleep deprived , sort of skips the first stages of sleep and Rem sleep occurs very quickly. Like in 20 minutes instead of the usual 90 or so. Kind of a catch up mode.

Cheers,

Chris

Yes that is correct Chris. So now Gailzee we must assume that you have returned to your normal , lazy , grumpy old self..

Just kidding.

Interesting... Wonder if that would explain why shortly after I fall asleep my auto cranks the pressure up (to 14 or so cuz of a bunch o apneas) Then after a few hours it levels off... and doesn't go higher than 11 or so.

Mike,

14cm right away? that's because you're laying on your hose!

Really, mine does that once in a while too.

Really, Wader, just because you're trying to get to 1000 is NO reason to make comments about Mike laying on his hose.

Liam, who really can't seem to get enough of the hose jokes.

Hmmm Mike just checked his vents for cameras and is sure that Liam and Wader are imagining Mike sleeping on his hose...
