OT:Blue Angels Air Show Weekend July12 and 13 Pensacola , FL

Just thought this might be interesting for those air show fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ba2wWgc8cU the first one was low over the beach where the airshow is held every year. Plus some other Blues video.

Some of those air cowboys get a bit lower than they are supposed to.
Slap on the wrist, unless there are casualties.
A few years ago, a local luxury B&B got most of its windows shattered
by a sonic boom during an air show. Of course, a large check was written.

What had happened was that the plane he had developed problems and he return to NAS Pensacola which not far away and swapped to the standby plane. He came back in a hurry and was a little low trying to get back in formation and was a little lower than anticipated for which they did review and admitted he was to low but he was not supersonic it just caused a wind down draft which caused the unachored tent covers to fly and other light stuff.

And violated flight rules in the process.

I guess since all the air space around that area was closed to traffic It was OK but was just a little lower than usual. Have you ever watched one of there shows?

Lived in San Diego for a long time, so yes, they don't fly over people normally and when they do there are minimal heights to be observered and offset from observers.

This reminds me of an air show I attended years ago. One of the newest F's (at the time) was brought in. We actually couldn't get on base, so we were parked in the entrance. The fighter flew flew right over our cars and flew so low and slow that we could see the rivets on the underside of the plane! What a thrill!
