One question: how can we tell the current system protects us?
Defective artificial joints, pacemaker-defibrillators, etc.
---all these items have made it to the marketplace (and inside unsuspecting patients),
and have remained in place for YEARS.
I can't help wondering what is the REST OF THE STORY?

Wasn't there a problem with heart stents recently? I know someone who got a faulty hip joint. Scary!
