REMstar Plus & REMstar AUTO M Series For Sale (used)

Post by LOOPY9999 » Mon Jul 13, 2015 4:47 pm

........both are in very good condition.
I have NO idea how to determine how many hours of use ..ect...(if you do know how, please show me so i can post for information purposes)?

The REMstar Plus comes with only the power plug and machine . No accessories ect.... Just Box and power cord. When we plug it in, it powers up, and when we hold that same power button the machine starts to push air out. We immediately turned off and didn't want to damage it in any way.

The REMstar AUTO M Series comes with the machine ONLY. i was able to power it up using another power source so i know it turns on and blows air...but do know anything else about them..

why are you selling them? Do you know how old they are, in years?
Are you asking $50 or $60...it's not clear what the price is for each.

Hours of use can be obtained by going into the clinical setup menu.
You can go here and get the manuals that explain how to get into the clinical setup menus for each machine.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual

The Remstar Plus is probably the older machine. It's probably this one
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... -cpap.html
bare bones basic machine.
This model was discontinued when the M series machines were released which was around 2006 or 2007.
It has the least value of the 2 machines even if it has the lowest number of hours of use.

The M Series Auto...discontinued in the fall/winter of 2009/2010.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/remsta ... -flex.html
If it says CFlex on the machine then it was one of the first ones because AFlex didn't come until later with the M series. It is a "full data" machine but limited to what data was available back when it was the latest and greatest.

Humidifiers were available for both models but even though the humidifiers can still be found I don't know that I would put my money in a new humidifier for either of these machines. It wouldn't be a cost effective measure. Now if someone could do without the humidifier then these machines might make a suitable back up machine or travel machine. ...or used with a battery while camping.

Thanks. As Pugsy guessed, I'm looking for a backup unit to dedicate for travelling. I have the DC cords to use it at hunting camp, and it fits nicely in my suitcase when I travel twice monthly. I have an M series now, but it's wore out and is not working very well.

Does anyone know, will I be able to set it up, or can only a DME set up that machine for me?

Thanks.

The M series is easy to set up. Go to that link that I pointed to where the manuals can be obtained and I think there is a quick setup guide you can get to help you set up a second machine. It's easy.
The Remstar Plus might be a little bit more difficult depending on exactly which model that one is...some had 3 buttons and some had 5 buttons so you would have to get the correct manual with the Plus machine.
The M series machines all had the same number of buttons and same how to get to the setup menu is the same with all M series machines.

There is no need to take the machine to someone else to have them set it up. It really is quite easy...my first machine was the M Series Auto with CFlex and I set it up all by myself with the help of the manual.

I have a humidifier, 1003758, RP-M series R3 Chamber Kit, new in sealed package.
If you decide to buy this machine I will give this to you free almost, all I wanted is a simple explanation of how you set up the DC cords to use it at camp. I have the main part of the humidifier also. If it fits you can have that too.

I purchase a LOT of Medical equipment from a local Auction House and these are only some of what i have. At this point all I'm trying to do is recoup what i spent on the lot . if you truly are interested i can sent you pictures and more details. Just let me know what you want to see..

thanks

Just so everyone is clear on where I am at with these machines. Information I provided was for education only.
I am not interested in either of these machines. I explained them and provided links so that people would see how easy it was to get to the clinical setup menu where hours of use can be verified (I think they are called blower hours on those machines and that's different from therapy hours) Therapy hours can be reset to zero but blower/machine hours can't be reset.

Either would make a good backup/camping machine for someone who is already established with their therapy.
The M series "could" be used for data management therapy but the data is limited and involves buying a special card reader which is going to cost more than the machine so I wouldn't advise it be used in that situation from both a data standpoint and cost to get the data.

Respironics are 12 volt machines so they are much easier to use in a camping/battery situation without need for special/pricey converters.

thank you for your information...

As i stated before, these are items which i purchased from a Medical Equipment Auction and am trying to sell them to those who may not want to be burden with the higher costs for newer ones. If this is something that you need please contact me and we can make arrangements to get them to you. I sell on eBay (and have for over 13 years now) and have a 100% satisfaction Feedback score. Am not trying to scam anyone here just trying to recoup my original Auction costs from these units.

thanks all

You can't sell these on eBay.

This is a user support forum, not a market place. Craigslist is a better format.
