Help! There is so much air I am not getting any air.

Post by nevadasleepyhead » Tue Jun 23, 2015 6:34 pm

My bipap was been increased to 18 and 12 after my last study. 18 is so high it blows every mask I've tried off my face. The respiratory therapist told me I could change the settings but he is not allowed to tell me how. He did refer me to this website for information. Does anyone know how to do this? I havent gotten more than 2 hours of sleep in a row in 6 weeks. The lower settings were much better in retrospect. I think somewhere in between is what I need. Thanks.

Pugsy will help you... she knows the machine well (and a lot more).

you can get the secret manual for the machine by going here,
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual

scrolling down to section three, reading the instructions on how to get manuals by email, and request this manual:

ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto, S & ST (combined manual)

that'll get you started

I have pressures at or above that, and use the resmed p10 nasal pillow mask. if you don't have mouth leaks, it's great... very little area to seal, so it's generally really good about not having much in the way of leaks.

I emailed for the manual and received it already. Made some tweaks to settings. Hoping I will have a good night of sleep. Thanks for the information!
