I felt lousy with my new Air Sense 10 auto set but it reported AHI of 1
I went to an old Elite 8 and set it the same way at pressure 13.4...AHI 4.5
I kept increasing my pressure till I got 1.5 on the Elite 8 Needed 16.4
I put this pressure on the Air Sense 10 and got a score 0f .3 and felt better.
Are the new machines less sensitive in detecting events? hence less effective in stopping my apnea by giving me false feedback?
If so this could be a serious danger to all Air Sense 10 users.
Maybe a home continuous oximetry machine should be included with the machines so you know whether you are really suffocating or not. After all, thats what its all about isnt it?

A low pressure of 4 is the machine default low... almost no one can breathe comfortably there and almost everyone raises it by at least a few cms... have you tried to do that?

RERAs, with little to no desats, can be devastating to one's health.

Thanks Julie but I'm already on 13.4 pressure and had to go up to 16.4 to feel rested in AM. The Air sense said my score was 1.5 at 13.34 pressure but i fe;t bad. The old Machine S8 gave a reading of 4.5 AHI so i knew why i felt bad. At 16.4 I feel good again

If its not about oxygen levels during sleep, what is it about? Snoring?

Well oxygen levels is part of it. But persistent arousals, without falling oxygen levels, due to partial collapse of the airwaychallma wrote:If its not about oxygen levels during sleep, what is it about?

The ResMed Elite S8 calculated AHI differently from current models...It overstated HI. When I had my S8 I divided my HI in half and then made my calculation. As soon as I changed to my S9, my AHI dropped a lot.

you're dealing with varying pressures in an autoset, unlike your elite, and there's a lot more data than just the pressure.challma wrote:Thanks Julie but I'm already on 13.4 pressure and had to go up to 16.4 to feel rested in AM. I'd suggest you install sleepyhead and pull the data from the as10, and let's see how things look, it can tell you a LOT.
