Thank you! I do have some Ambien and Ativan if needed.library lady wrote:I recall that prior to my study, in the morning before going in that night, a tech put a nasal mask on me and turned the machine on, then took that mask off and put a full face mask on me. Which one did I want? I said the second one. The sleep doc had prescribed a sleeping pill to bring with me, but told me not to take it unless they told me to. In other words, if I didn't fall asleep by a certain time, they would bring me some water to take it with. I didn't need it, but I remember being worried, as you are, about being able to sleep.
I hope it goes well for you.

My AHI was 14 and my o2 saturation dropped to 82%.yaconsult wrote:What was your AHI in the sleep study? The titration is easier in the sense that you are getting therapy. But it's harder for some people to get used to the mask.
In the survey I did, you can see that there is a lot of variation of which type mask works best for people: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104522&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=poll
If you can, ask to try the most popular mask in the three different types - nose, full, nasal pillow - and see which one works best for you. There is no single "best mask".
Thank you for the suggestion on trying out the most popular mask and the different types. I didn't know I could do that.
