Interesting Observation.... Ephedrine

Post by snufy » Sun Jun 14, 2015 8:34 pm

Hi All,

Just to preface my story **DO NOT DO ANYTHING I HAVE DONE OR DON'T TAKE THIS AS MEDICAL ADVICE** CONSULT YOUR OWN DOCTOR. You have been warned.

Ephedrine is legal to purchase in CANADA!!! This is 100% legit.

I have sleep apnea, I figure I've had it since I was young.....I'm currently treating myself with CPAP and I get OK results. I have been able to get under 2 AHI for over a year consistently....but something is still not right... I can't loose weight, even eating under 2K cals, which is almost physically impossible.

Big key here... I've always, always been a mouth breather, even with a full face mask as per the last year.

Let's back track to college. I saw I gained weight...from 230-260, so it was time to trim down, I've always lifted weights and been athletic...so I put together a program and got my diet reasonable. I also started taking an EC stack. Usually this should provide a max 5% metabolic benefit. In 2.5-3 months I got down to 238 and I figure I was 20% BMI and I have a ton of muscle naturally. (i was squating 550+) Everything went exactly to plan. I also noticed I started sleeping extremely "hard" like I died all night. How I remember it was as a kid.

So it''s been a few years now, I regained the weight, i've dieted exactly the same, upped the cardio, etc.... I've worked the exact same plan with good cpap results, and I get no results after week 2 and the inital water loss from carb depletion...

So I've really focused on my nose as of lately, and I've come to the conclusion I must have a deviated septum etc... and I don't breathe properly through my one nostril, when taking ephedrine consistently, I would get the benefit of properly breathing through the nose from the bronchial dilation and more oxygen saturation. In turn the half life is 4 hours, so if my last does was at 4-5 PM, I would get an effect for 8-10 hours after that, most of the night. I figure the correct nose breathing in combination with better oxygen saturation corrected and boosted the metabolism back to what it should be, this allowed me to loose weight steadily and according to schedule, and in turn I was getting proper sleeps with no CPAP at that time. I could sleep in any position and it was a great sleep.

I have a meeting with ENT next week and I will see what he says first, then tell him my hypothesis.

Another interesting aside, when I took ephedrine with CPAP.... I have far more Hypoapneas and it brings down the pressure needs from 12.6 to 7-8 ish.

I feel that my nose breathing may have been screwed up for most of my teen/adult life. I feel a correction in nose breathing, should get the metabolism going back the other way consistently.

Ephedrine and Caffeine. It's what used to be in NoDoz and Vivrin pills until the US cracked down on it and sudafed. Ephedrine can be used as an apatite suppressant and can give you an energy boost when working out. It used to be used as a supplement with caffeine in pill form and with energy drinks quite a few years ago. Used in moderation, it can help with your workout, but it's easy to overdose. Ephedrine was banned by the US FDA in 2004 and taken off the market. Ephedrine is also a major ingredient in Meth and Speed.

Source - I had a part time job with Weider Nutrition way back in the late '90s and ephedrine was used in a lot of our products. I also have allergies and get frustrated with the restrictions on buying sudafed for my whole family.

I would say this is nonsense, but my sister had a similar experience. She was on Cpap and could not lose weight either. She had surgery for deviated septum. She not only was able to ditch the cpap but lost 50 pounds. She is still overweight, but has no breathing problems at all. YMMV. I don't have a deviated septum, and only seem to lose weight at 1200 calories or less, so it's a slow haul for me.

Thats what my feeling are... Why was I able to do it before without the help of cpap? Vs now. EC doesn't provide that much of a boost, at all.

I could only lose weight at 800 calories or less.
I never could use drugs because they mess with my heart.

Before anyone tries this, please get your Doctor's OK, it's better to be fat than trigger some condition that might have lain dormant if you didn't prod it with Ephedrine - have you seen those people on Meth?

Absolute do not try this!!! Although it's been clinically studied and it's extremely safe in the studied doses, do not try it!!!!!

There may be better solutions like nasal spray t another similar drug. Consult with your doctor
