Resmed Elite software needed

Post by rippvanweenkle1 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 5:39 pm

I just got a used Resmed 8 Elite with only 5 hours on it. I am looking for software to download the data, and hopefully someone can point me to where I can get a card reader for this machine.
I realize it is old tech, I am just hoping I dont have to find a newer machine.

If you will register here at the forum and send me a private message I will get you pointed to the software. I don't make the link public because the person I got it from asked me not to.
Since you haven't registered I can't send you a PM now.

The card reader for the S8....only place I know of is EBay and a seller from Israel. Just search EBay for "Resmed smart card reader"...sometimes for less than $75 but most of the time between 75 and 100.

The S8 has a good bit of information already available on the LCD screen. Do you have the clinical manual so you know how to access what it has?
If not you can request it here

The actual leak graph is probably the main thing the software would show you that you can't get off the LCD screen and if your 95% number is below 0.40 L/second on the machine..your leaks are likely fine and the graphs really wouldn't help you all that much.

I just signed up a few minutes ago so did not realize there were more steps involved.
I have tried to find the seller from israel but no luck.
I dont really care about the performance data of the machine, I just need to download and print compliance data so I can get my DOT card renewed. Otherwise I may have to look for a new job.
The local DME's in my area want 3-4 hundred dollars to get me as a patient then charge me $50 for a download.
So if I cant get a card reader then I really dont need the software, and will have to get a different machine.
I would like advice on what is the easiest machine to get this compliance data from at under $200 used.
Thanks

I didn't realize that the EBay seller in Israel no longer offers the readers. I don't know of anywhere to get one unless one of the forum members here might have one they no longer need.

I understand about needing the compliance usage report for your job.

I do know a forum member selling a slightly older (comparable to the S8) Respironics machine that would also need a smart card reader but those readers are still available. With shipping I think it is $46.50

The M Series machine....the Auto and the Pro....both have full data and I can get you the software. These would be comparable to the S8 in terms of age.
The Respironics System One 50 series is a bit newer than the M Series machine and I assume it does compliance reporting and you wouldn't need a card reader.
Confirm with the seller which machine does what and tell him what you want it for. He knows his machines so he knows what they will do and what you need.
I don't know his prices but I suspect they will be more than fair especially for the M series machine.
The M Series Auto is used...so it will be cheaper.

I can get you set up with the software that will work with either the System One or the M series.
The System One uses a SD card...so no card reader is needed.
The M Series uses a smart card reader..the DT3500 that I mentioned above..no other reader will work...so factor that in when figuring costs.

Contact him and he will help you out. Nice guy.
I don't know if he has sold any of these or not...just ask.
