What caused this pressure increase?

I know we shouldn't naval gaze on one tiny point in time compared to an overall good picture, but hey, I've got access to the Internet, and I'm going to use it.

So for the last 80 days that I've been on auto-CPAP, my pressure has held pretty comfortably between 9 and 12. Sometimes there are peaks at the higher end. On Saturday night, I see that it popped up to 15 (my programmed max) and was limited for a bit. Looking at the other data on the page, I am not sure what caused the pressure increase. I don't see any OA or CA activity previous to the pressure increase. I do see a bit of a leak, but again, not before the increase.

I pulled the waveform data, but Saturday night was already gone, except for the last two hours that didn't include this time period.

Any ideas?

You have a bit of leaking and snoring

My guess would be unseen event precursors...snores or flow limitations. They don't have to be flagged for the machine to respond to them. We don't always see what they are fighting.

The leak...I don't think it is enough to cause the increase in pressure. These machines just don't go chasing pressure like that.
Instead I think the increased pressure caused a little increase in the expected vent rate. I think what we are seeing is the vent rate which happens to be above the baseline. Baseline isn't always zero at the higher pressures.
Software is set to show only unintentional leaks and we assume the baseline will be zero and often it is at the lower pressures but at higher pressures the baseline isn't always at the zero line when reporting leak this way.
I have a friend that uses 16 cm straight cpap and her baseline (even with the report set to so only excess leak) is around 20.
That's her baseline.

Either that or aliens again.

Thanks for the analysis. I think I'll go with space aliens. As long as they didn't leave a probe behind, I'm OK with it.
