drug phobia now, help needed

Post by portiemom » Tue Feb 07, 2012 6:18 pm

After years of living in the morning fog, despite good cpap treatment VVV, saved me from more years of horrible living! He was spot on about sharing that Naproxen taken along with a Neurontin medication could be the problem. The first morning I woke after not taking the Naproxen the fog was sooooooo much better and my life has changed for the better.
Now however, a Neurologist has prescribed TOPAMAX for migraine headaches I'm having after a mild concussion, and I am phobic about taking anything with the Neurontin at night!!! Any thoughts on this are really appreciated, and welcomed!

You must talk to your MD about it, not us, and there are meds out there that can help without neurontin in them.

My wife has occasional migraines, has done for years. She was recently prescribed Relpax which she said is quite effective. Not sure of the active ingredients.
Cheers,

Mick.

http://www.rxlist.com/

will allow you to look up your medications and learn about them so that you can discuss them from an informed position with your doctor.

None of us here are MDs (well, most of us, anyway, and those who are can't diagnose over the web) so we can't do more than give you an opinion here and there.

Thank you for your posts, I really do appreciate your honesty. I do understand that that this is not a place to get doctors advice on any topic here, and maybe my thread sounded as if I was asking for a medical answer, but I really just want to hear from others about their experience with topamax if they have used it. After so many years of "Medical" advice and many well respected Doctors (which I still hold in high regard) the experience of VVV here on this site, was life changing for me. Sometimes, someone can share an experience that can help, or add prospective, to a problem that another is having.
I have had a lot of great help here, and I am truly appreciative of eveyones input.
So anyone with experience they can share about taking additional medicine along with gabapentin (neurontin) is appreciated.
