Looks like my DME may get me the Hans Rudolph mask

Post by sapphireskye » Tue Dec 27, 2005 1:30 pm

Well, it looks like they are gonna order it on credit. I am hoping they do, because I am so rough on the masks. I know some people have had problems with this mask, that mask, but I really wanted the opportunity for this to be my second mask on swap out. Casey at Hans Rudolph has been really patient and helpful and he is gonna call my DME company. Well, I am gonna keep my fingers crossed lol.

God bless

Good luck with this mask Chelle. I have read in many posts where the DME typically doesn't know how to size you right using the calipers that Hans Rudolph has. Be sure to do this one on your own. I'm sure Seveerena will let you know her thoughts on this matter. I've found her insight into this type of mask invaluable and hope to actually order this mask the next time the insurance allows for a mask change.

Glad you were able to get the mask you wanted.

I am lucky

I had the calipers here and measured them myself. Come to find out after all the pain in the butt calls, that my DME actually orders from a company called Sunrise Medical that has the mask...after all that worrying. I am glad I listened to Sharon/Severeena and pursued this today. Melinda, I wish you the best of luck too. Hopefully I measured right. They have to specially specify the new v foam headgear but my DME company talked to Casey over at Hans Rudolph first to make sure they knew what to order. Now, I have to figure out what to do about backup power considering I have a cpap machine that has an integrated humidifier. So, there is another hoop I get to jump through lol. Well, one victory for the day. God bless

Chelle, how often do you lose power?

I was worried one night about this very thing and Tom was telling me not to worry because the machine automatically switches to room air and you wake up because the sound is different.

Tom is a Viet Nam vet and he is prepared for everything. You may want to invest in a small generator just to run your CPAP.

Tom's generator is big enough to run the refrigerator during the day and the two machines at night.
