I'm a newcomer to CPAPTalk and have a question: Has anyone had corrective surgery for misshapen cartilage that prevents using the nare mask for C-Pap therapy? The nare insert causes a painful irritation; thus, I use a full nasal mask. The problem with this is leakage. I have tried heavy lubrication but it hasn't worked. I'd really like to remedy this problem. Looking forward to some ideas from the pros.

Re: Nose cartilage problem
I think you're speaking of a "deviated septum". Put that in the search and you'll find may reports - most of them by satisfied people.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

My honey has the same problem......and is in the process of finding a good doctor that'll take care of cutting it out.
At this time, she can't use the Headrest (Aura) Mask by Aeiomed......and has to make do with another type mask that requires constant attention to leak prevention.
