Optilife Nasal Pillow mask - Thumbs up!

Post by not_so_grumpy » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:36 am

Hello,

I'm new to CPAP and new here - Actually, I'm also new to finally getting sleep!

Good to have this board available. I was diagnosed with OSA in March (after many years of not sleeping right). I had 38.8 events per hour and 90.5% O2 saturation. My CPAP machine pressure is set at 8. (I think I got all the terms correct...)

I have Kaiser (a blessing for me) and I started with a Flexifit 405 mask. It was OK, but not that comfortable - I can't stand anything on my nose. Plus, I could only sleep flat on my back.

So I came here and read through some reviews and experiences. I went online and got a Optilife Nasal Pillow mask. Wow- what a difference!!! It is SO much more comfortable, my vision isn't blocked - I think it's great! I can lay on my side with it and it stays secure.

I find myself looking forward to putting it on when I get ready for bed. Just thought others my like to hear a review of something that really works great for me...

Thanks for listening,
Guy

Ditto on that!!!!

I also use a waterbased lub around the pillow because they were irritating the inside of my nose, now all is good

I'll keep that in mind. Sometimes when I take my allergy medicine, it drys me out a little. Good to know...!

DyannaK - Thanks!

Hi

I'd like to say welcome and congratulations in finding this forum community You will learn SO MUCH here, and we look forward to hearing YOUR questions and ideas. That's how we all continue to learn.

To get started here, it would be helpful to you and to us to complete your profile. Click on Control Panel - then click on the Profile Tab, On the left you will be able to post an "Avatar" or photo, list your CPAP Equipment, and add any comments with Equipment or in the Signature section.

Glad your mask is working well so far. Hope that you are starting out with a "data capable" machine (very important), and "software" so you can track the effectiveness of your therapy and mask leaks, etc. Be sure to read all you can beginning with "New Users" at the top of the screen. The forum's Search Engine is also very helpful.

Keep us posted on how you continue to do!

Joy
