My Respironics Remstar Plus wont auto start anymore

Post by hotrod53 » Mon Jul 09, 2007 6:36 pm

I used to be able to put on my mask and breathe, the unit would start. All of a sudden it won't do it anymore. My wife said that she heard the unit running during the day when no one was in the room and the humidifier tank wasn't even in, it seemed to start itself up! Ever since that it won't auto start. I unplugged it and held the two arrows to view the setup, I saw nothing that was related.

Any suggestions?

I am assuming you have the model with c_flex'
I have one with and one without . The one with c-flex is the one which will
autostart. Try using it as a stand alone away from the heated best
your hose should plug on where tank connects let it set without power
for a few min. then it should autostart if it doesn't you have lost
something on the electronics or a sensor or a sw.

Lots of luck Allen

ablong, you are exactly correct according to the mfg. They said that this is a sign of a pressure sensor failure and the thing is about to S@#T the bed. My insurance company purchased this unit and they are having Respironics replace it.

Thanks for you input. nice call!

Goodshow

I hope the don't delay the change out.
For this reason I keep a spare. I do not trust the the
insurance co or the DME.

Lots of luck

Received my replacement Respironics unit last week, although I was suprised that it was a "refurbished" unit, it does work automatically again....
