I currently use a Resmed Airsense10 APAP. I just purchased today a Brias Z2 for travel. Testing it tonight I find it impossible to use. It is set to auto start APAP. Initial pressure is 5. I start breathing and it starts at 00. A few seconds later trying to inhale with zero air pressure I get an instant burst of pressure (5) that I cannot exhale against. When the air suddenly stops I can’t inhale as there is zero pressure, it just stops. My lungs feel like they are being blown up with no way to stop it with no way to exhale against the burst of air, then no way to inhale as zero pressure is provided. So no pressure then all the pressure. On and off. Is this the way this thing works??
It is impossible for me to sleep and my lungs actually hurt from fighting with this thing. The resmed auto start begins with a comfortable pressure that works with my inhale then exhale with a ramp that works with APAP
Thank You for any help

Re: New Bria’s Z2 characteristics
Return it, if possible.
It only matters that you cannot use it--
Whether it is defective or poorly programmed is not that important.

Hopefully this is a Z2 Auto, not just a Z2.Rwpl wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 2:16 amI currently use a Resmed Airsense10 APAP. I just purchased today a Brias Z2 for travel. You may want to return it, but this is one thing you could try first. There is a setting called Z-Breathe. It's an EPR setting. Try the different levels to see if any make it workable. Actually, there is also a ramp setting. Try turning that off, or adjusting the minimum setting to something close to your minimum setting.
Having said that... don't delay past your return period in case it's defective.

Re: New Bria’s Z2 characteristics
Thank You both for your comments. I was able to reach Breas support and they figured the unit was defective, likely an air leak internally and asked me to return it to cpap.com where I purchased it. I called cpap.com and they refused to accept it as a refundable return, only as a potential warranty repair. I’d purchased the Z2 for a 3 week international trip leaving soon and they had no idea how long it would take to repair. I really wanted to avoid hauling around my ResMed so I took a chance and decided to open up the Z2 to see what I could figure out. Well I found a part of the rubber adapter hose port was not properly connected to a plastic tube internally. I put it back on and it now works as designed. I know I could have risked voiding the warranty but I had to give it a try. I called my Breas contact back and told her what I found and she was very appreciative and said she was notifying the production Mgr so he could be aware of this problem.
Tks again all! PS power out in our area all night so I get to try out the Z2 battery pack as well.

Re: New Bria’s Z2 characteristics
thank YOU for coming back and letting us know the outcome. i guess it just goes to show that sometimes, you have to take matters into your own hands.
in your case, literally.

Re: New Bria’s Z2 characteristics
My Z1 will sometimes get difficult to exhale against. I recall one night I desperately attempted to lower the pressure settings in order to get some sleep. I eventually pushed in the partially withdrawn hose adapter, and all was well. I believe the smaller tube is for pressure sensing, and this disconnects first.
