Temporarily Going Back to APAP from BiPAP

Post by Holden4th » Thu Sep 14, 2017 2:54 am

I'm flying to Perth tomorrow morning and as I now have a Respironics 560 APAP and a 760 BiPAP auto I now have a back up and travel machine. The 560 is all set up in it's own bag complete with power supply, mask and tubing. I'm not taking the humidifier as I haven't used it for a while now. There is a heat moisture exchanger for the Z1 in the bag if I need it.

I haven't changed the 560s settings since I started using the BiPAP regularly and am hoping it will work for me like it did in the past. I expect my RERAs will rise as I got the BiPAP to solve just that problem but then again I am on vacation. It will be interesting to see how my body responds to no pressure support.

Why would you want to do this type of experimenting when you are away from home and away from the BiPAP?

Why not at home during a weekend with the BiPAP available if you have problems with the APAP?
