RESMED testing new hose for Swift

Post by dllfo » Wed Sep 27, 2006 1:07 pm

I spoke to RESMED yesterday, they are testing a new hose for the Swift. They
also said I was one of the few people to contact them about the ends pulling off their hoses.

I asked if they wanted more Beta testers, they said they didn't know yet.

The wife and I should get our hoses in the next ten days. If you are curious, and want to try the new hose...contact them.

They said they have not heard anything about a new Swift mask being released anywhere. Hmmmm.

Interesting...I called ResMed and they sent me back to where I purchased the mask. I got ZERO satisfaction from them since they basically told me they were the mfr. and could not deal with me directly. Every day that goes by I get more and more disillusioned by mfrs. who take no responsbility for the junk they make and for which they get exhorbitant prices. Yes, you bet I am angry!

Resmed implied my DME should replace the hose under warranty and they have been very good to do that. I get tired of calling them. I am going to use the hot glue gun, see if I can do it that way.

But for the price they charge, and the price they charge for a replacement, those hoses should be better quality.

I hope the Beta version is good.

Anyway, call your DME, tell them you need a good hose to get treatment.

I hope they stick it up their rear end.

Anyone know how long their warranty is. I'm already having problems with the replacement I purchased a few months ago.

90 days as I recall. I may ask them for another hose for the NEW one whose end came off.

My first hose last a couple of months before it came apart. The hot glue gun sounds good. I get tired of chasing them. Of course they are counting on that.

If I were 25 and jumping out of bed each day, I might understand better, but I am not and getting up is a chore to be accomplished slowly until my first 3 pain meds are taken. Not sure why the ends pull off. I thought it was me the first time. then my wife pulled the end off one. Built poorly.....

Another reason for a price increase for them? To build better hoses? Doubtful.

Hey Folks...cut them some slack....the plastic that goes into those hoses has went up in cost due to the high petroleum prices. We are probably saving them from Chapter 11.

I just KNEW Jim would want an explanation. javascript:emoticon('')

As I said in another thread, I contacted ResMed about a month ago about this. Thier customer service told me that the resdesigned hoses are out there and the DMEs can get them under warranty. I called the DME and they sent me a whole new mask and I wasn't even due for one. The hose looks the same as the old hose, but they have obviously attached it better to the swivel. Mine has stayed together.

I also contacted them about the Swift II. They said it will be out in the US in the Spring. It looks like it will be a great upgrade. Basically the pillows and the exhaust system have been improved.
