Hi everyone,
I did a search (4 actually) and found entries about the wheezing and bird noises on exhale in at Resmed s9. Does the AirSense 10 have the same noise? Operationally, do the two match up with normal noise levels?
I am approaching the time to replace my machine and what to know if the issue was resolved.

I cant tell any difference between my 9 and 10. But I sleep with either white noise or fan. I have to have sound to drown out Tinnitus...

I have 3 S9s and I have used all 3. I have never had any noise like you describe. Are you sure that the humidifier seal is not leaking or that the noise is a leak at the mask?

Re: wheezing (or bird) noise on S9. Is it on the Airsense?
I haven't seen much mention of any noise with the AirSense machines so I don't think that the bird calls on exhale are as noticeable (or all that common) as they were with the S9.
I have had 3 S9 machines...and I could hear the bird call on exhale sometimes with all of them. They varied in loudness with the force of my exhale.
So I know what you are talking about. I haven't got my hands on an AirSense yet to test it out though.

Re: wheezing (or bird) noise on S9. Is it on the Airsense?
I think the s9 leaks out the front to some degree where the three motor wires come out through the silicone gasket -- if you look at the thread on 's9 teardown pictures' you can see the triangle portion of the gasket with the slot where the wires go through from the encased motor to the the computer board. The air leaks between or around the wires, I think, even after the casing is put snugly in place. You can blow air into the air outtake while plugging up the air intake in the back and hear the air come out the front.
Not sure if the Airsense 10 is built in a similar way, ie, with the motor wires pressed against a gasket and housing, but it may be. I would think the Airsense would have an improved design because that little noise in the s9 bothers people a bit.

Re: wheezing (or bird) noise on S9. Is it on the Airsense?
I recently had this problem. I couldn't sleep without the fan on and a noise maker. When I got a new strap for the mask it went away. I use the P10 pillows with the ResMed machine. Just a thought. Hope this helps someone.
