Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
Anyone familiar with the machine?
Does it use SD-card or something?
A fellow Finn with sleep apnea has the machine, and she said there is no place for a memory card.
Any idea if a clinical manual is found somewhere? It's not so much about settings, but safe reading of
data, maybe looking at the detailed data (if possible) and possibly figuring out backup power options.
The thing (I'm told) looks like this:

All System One machines use a SD card and the slot for the SD card is on the back of the machine up next to the top rim. It's tiny. If your friend's machine happens to have the modem attached for data transmission then the modem will cover the SD card slot. Maybe that's why he can't see it.
I have never seen a manual for the System One BiPap ST but the basics will be the same for all System One machines and SD slot is the same on all machines.
Manuals can be found here but they don't list the ST model but other than some setting choice differences the basics about the machines are unchanged.

Re: Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
A-ha, thanks.
Do you think the SD-card could still be used without possibly getting in the trouble with the sleep polyclinic?
That is, do you need to detach the modem in order to insert the data card? And if, does the machine copy the collected data onto the card when the card is inserted? I recall that some machines require that the card is inserted during use to record the data.
Or maybe you can see the night's numbers from the machine itself the same way as from an "ordinary" System One APAP?
I think the lady *needs* to see the numbers. Something sounded not to be right.
She originally had AHI > 140 in her sleep study and it's still over 40.

Re: Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
The data that is available on the System One LCD screen is pretty generic and not particularly helpful when someone his having problems.
Yes, it's easy to pop off the modem and then pop it back on once done with the data thing.
The SD slot may already have a SD card in it as the modem will fit and work with a card in the slot but often the suppliers remove them.
Not a problem though...any SD card will work. The System One machines do save a considerable amount of detailed data on the machines for around 30 days I think. The only piece of data that the machine never stores is the flow rate/wave form data because those files are large.
So if the machine is used without a SD card in the slot one graph feature will be absent but all other important data will be put back on the SD card once the card gets inserted. Very little is lost.
I think there are videos out there that show how to remove the modem. I have never seen one personally but from what I have heard it isn't a big deal. We have lots of forum members who report having modems and they remove it easily...get their data to their computer...and put the modem back on and no one is the wiser unless they tell someone.

Re: Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
Truckload of thanks.
I think I can find some such video now that I know such videos exist.
Also thanks for explaining the way the SD-card can be used.
I've never seen that kind of machine myself, and I don't personally know "the lady in distress".
Just trying to do what you do here, on a Finnish apnea forum.

Re: Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
The modem comes off by pulling it straight out, like a plug-in. Once you're finished with the SD card, reinsert it and plug the modem back in. Simple!

Yep, thanks.
I found the videos and linked them to a forum posting. That - I understand - covers all the System Ones?

Re: Respironics System One BiPAP ST?
Yes, pretty much covers all the System One machines. The differences between models and/or 50 series vs 60 series is the firmware stuff inside the machines. So the menus inside may differ in what they offer but how to get to the menu along with all the external features of the machines are all the same.
