Thanks for the advice zoo, I don't dare tempt fate receiving any income from what could be construed as employment while I'm receiving workers comp :0

Thanks again Pugsy, I went on search tempest & checked craigslist, multiple keyword searches within a 200 mile radius only found 3 cpap's for sale, all were quite well used with high hours & equally high prices...sigh

I also think that 85% desat for 13 minutes ought to generate some hair-on-fire action on the part of the medical professionals. If you are having those levels of desats without having events, then that requires more testing to figure out just what the heck is going on.

I am in a similar situation and I was lucky to find the machine in my profile with only 95 hours on it for $100 locally. I drove to the guy's place of employment the next day and bought it in the parking lot. Someone in another state was interested in buying it (could *well* have been someone from here!) but the seller was happy to sell it locally to me instead of having to deal with shipping it and getting paid. But you are right - most machines on craigslist are way, way overpriced - people have no idea what the real worth is.

Just be very sure that you get a data-capable cpap with autoset ability that is compatible with the free software at http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/ - this will give you the ability analyze the reports and to adjust your settings to optimize your therapy.

Best of luck to you!

Update from today, the DME called stating they have a script for me for a machine & supplies from my Dr & will call me back once they get all the documentation needed.
