more sleepyhead oximeter support
as of about 5 minutes ago, Jedimark got CMS50I direct importing working on the sleepyhead test build!!!
so now, both the new cms50F and the cms50I are compatible with sleepyhead! (the soon to be released version)
so, if you're debating on which model to get based on wanting sleepyhead to work with it... your choices just expanded
here's a preliminary screenshot. (click for biggerness)

I'd say it's more of a technical term, as opposed to medicalRicaLynn wrote:"Biggerness" - is that a medical term?
stuff like:
(08:58:56 AM) palerider: I'll try running it in the debuggery
(08:59:05 AM) mmu_man: gdb --args
(08:59:09 AM) palerider: it coredumped when I clicked "yes, save it to that date"
(08:59:58 AM) jedimark: debuggery.. like that word...

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
Great news, more choices. Since both will work, which is best at lowest price, and where to get it. I am researching but others may have done this and have suggestions. I would like to have the Ox data, as I still get headaches and cant see correlation on the Sleepyhead data, but am new here and experimenting with masks, and Sleepyhead. The masks may be contributing to the headaches. If I have to spend a lot for the oximeter, I will get another headache.
Thanks to Pugsy and all.

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
I have the 50i. If I were buying today I would buy the 50iw.
I routinely store 7 nights of data in the watch memory, 8+ hours per night.
The 50 F says it stores 24 hours of data. They both have rechargeable battery. It claims x10 hours on the 50 F I have used the 50i several nights without recharging.
I am not an expert and may have tunnel vision.

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
they're both very good, and convenient to use. the main difference between the new style F and the I model is that the I model will record multiple sessions, the old F models have a time stamp, but not date, the new f models have time and date, but only one session.Day_Dreamer wrote: PR do you know which model is better?

I have the I, jedimark has the old style f, mmu_man has the new F... it's been a team effort getting enough samples of data together *lol*
see next post on where I got mine.

I got mine from aliexpress in china, it cost me 90$ shipping included.snorebeard wrote:Great news, more choices. Since both will work, which is best at lowest price, and where to get it. I am researching but others may have done this and have suggestions.
I think the price wanders, and there's a variety of sellers on there, so poking around a bit is worth while (aliexpress is a bit like the chinese amazon... *lol*)

When and where can we get the new version with 50i support?

well, if you're using linux, you can build one right now.bwexler wrote:When and where can we get the new version with 50i support?
if you're wanting windows/mac versions, then he said he was going to create some newer test builds "soon".

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
and in the latest news, sleepyhead will set the date and time on 50i devices, probably blue 50f and maybe set the time on white 50f devices. (only tested on the i so far, but the later model blue f units use the same protocol)

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
Just for clarity, will the new SH version import the .SpO2 files from SpO2Assistant?
Also, some have suggested using the serial stream into SH, however it wants the CMS50F to start the streaming process for which it has no option.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

the current development version of 0.9.7 imports the .spo2 files from spo2 assistant v2.4 that came with the cms50i,OldLincoln wrote:Just for clarity, will the new SH version import the .SpO2 files from SpO2Assistant?

it also, as I stated above, *directly* imports, from the device, via usb cable, the data from the new cms50f and the cms50i.
and, also, will sync the date and time on the cms50i with the computer time.
if you're using linux, you can build a copy that does direct importing right now, no windows machine or spo2assistant program needed.
note, as of the time of this msg, it does not sync the time, becuase I figured out the trick to doing that after mark went to sleep... but, it probably will work shortly after he wakes up

Re: more sleepyhead oximeter support
Update please. Still looking to buy the least expensive reliable recording oximeter to work with the Sleepyhead software. It looks like this was a work in progress, so perhaps those using these successfully can suggest model(s) and good sources.
I wont to have this data accompany the Sleepyhead data.
Also, for a friend who snores a lot, and suspects apnea, but is reluctant to go in for a sleep study, would it be good to suggest trying out the recording oximeter at night? I know this doesn't record apnea events, but doesn't the damaging low O2 accompany apnea, so this would be a good indicator such that if it is low, it would help tell the person to get the sleep study and get with the program.
Thanks.
