First night last night. Let me tell you woodworkerjunkie, you were SPOT ON with the sizing. The large pillow fits perfectly! Leak line last night was as straight as an arrow. That's NEVER happened before. AHI numbers were about average (2.4), but I think they could be improved if I lowered the pressure just a bit, as I'm not accustomed to having such an incredible seal. I think the added pressure caused a few centrals and some hypopnea? Will know after tonight.woodworkerjunkie wrote:Let us know how it works for ya!
I've been looking at reviews for them on CPAP.com and will definitely get one in the next week. SleepGuy is wanting some people to test his products in another thread (Pur-Sleep), so I sent him a PM asking him to try out his HoseBoss. Thanks for the suggestion!Redonthehead wrote:I highly recommend trying a hose hanger if you don't have one. It holds the hose over your head, supports most of the weight of the hose, and keeps you from getting tangled up during the night, even when you roll from side to side. I got one of the blue "travel" hangers off ebay for less than $20(?).agribah wrote:Without the swivel joint at the front of the mask, do you have more leaks if you're an active sleeper? I often find that with the old Swift FX, the weight of the tubing would pull the mask down and cause leaks. That seems even more likely with the P10. Am I wrong?
Overall Impressions:
When I picked up the P10 yesterday, my DME's first words were that the Swift FX was a better mask because of the swivel and the adjustable headgear. After one night, I'm inclined to disagree with her. The lack of a swivel was no issue at all. I never once felt the hose tugging at the mask, and after a little experimental tugging at the hose before sleep, I found that it was more stable than the FX. (The FX can be dislodged easily by pulling downward, while the P10 cannot because of the harder plastic shell that sits just above your upper lip) As for the headgear, I had no problems with it being too tight or too loose. It just fit - and then disappeared. Honestly can't tell I have anything on my head.
I did have one bizarre moment last night when I woke up to find the mask lying beside me on the bed, and the CPAP machine shut off. I don't remember taking off the mask, or shutting off the machine. But from what I've read, this happens to everyone at some point, I think?
Tonight round 2.
Thanks all.
