Using the new Airfit P-10 with ASV Adapt

I am having some constant low level leaking (or it is showing as leaking) just since starting to use the new Airfit-P-10 about a week ago. I have never had a constant leak line like this with any other mask that I have used. I also do not feel or hear any leaks. This also happens while I am awake. I wear a chin strap with tape, no air is escaping from my mouth or from the mask. This seems very strange to me? It does not affect my therapy, and I love the mask, but was curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this?

Thanks in advance for any insight as to what could be causing this.

I would guess that's just the normal venting of the mask. See page 7 of the manual for the expected vent flow.

Edit: Can you show a chart with your "total leaks"? SleepyHead has a "leak rate" graph that is the amount over some expected amount. So we're seeing about 10 L/min on your leak rate chart, which is well below the actual venting level for your mask (about 33 L/min at 10 cmH2O). The total leaks number will tell us what the total is.

you might consider that the leaks in the chart are pretty much all below the 20lpm range, which is where the p10 *starts* (and goes up to 49@20cm) *and* that the s9 series doesn't report total, just extra leak... so that 10-15ish leak on the chart is what the machine thinks is leak above and beyond baseline venting.

This is the past two weeks, started using the P-10 on the 5th.
My thinking too, is that it has to do with the venting.

I used Swift FX nasal pillows for the first several months of my ASV experience and found the same thing: they were mostly leak free, easy to mount and care for, plus they allowed me to side sleep easily. The only thing that drove me to the dreaded full face masks was a persistent ear ache/infection which my doctor diagnosed from the therapy air blowing up my nose. First I went to the Wisp mask then finally the FFM Quattro FX. The FFM alternative relieved my ear problems. It's great how nasal pillows work with ASV, if all pieces fit together. Unfortunately for me that wasn't the case. Side note: I may go back and try them again sometime... I sure do miss the comfort and minimal impact on one's face.

Sir: You are so right, if you can make it work, nasal pillows is the WTG with therapy! This Air P-10 is fabulous! Really nothing much to the mask and very easy to tolerate!

Hi Jwerley. Looking at the pictures of the Air F10 it seems like the bottom back strap sits even higher on the back of the head than it does with the Swift FX. I had a big problem with the back strap sliding up and the nasal pillow on the Swift FX popping out. I ended up using tape on the lower back strap. Do you experience that with the new Air F10?

No, no problems with the straps slipping at all. The straps on the P-10 are different than the adjustable straps on other nasal pillow masks. You just pull these straps apart to adjust them. It is by far the easiest mask in every respect to use and the most comfortable that I have ever had. I have had the Swift, Aloha, Wisp, Elan, etc. This one has them all beat. I was not due to get a new mask through Medicare for a few more months, so I bought this through Cpap.com for $99.00 with return insurance. So glad I did, as it is now my new favorite!!
