Running Sleepyhead on two computers
Has anyone tried using the cloud or some other means to keep in sync Sleepyhead on two computers? I normally use the desktop but when traveling I need to use the desktop. Need a simple way to maintain data sync. I am also downloading oximeter data into Sleepyhead 9.6.
Thank you for any help with this.

I believe SH imports all the data from the SD card, except the wave form, each time you download.
So you will automatically be up to date on both.
If I am wrong I am sure to be corrected soon.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
I believe I determined a way to do this. It will take more testing before I am sure of the results.
1. First, create a Google Drive cloud account.
2. Then install Google Drive for PC (on your PC)
3. You will use the PC Google Drive program folder (found in your user profile folder) to run the Sleepyhead program
4. Drop the Sleepyhead program folder and the backup testing folder (usually found in My Documents) in the local machine Google drive folder.
5. You need only install local copies of Google drive on your computers to get to and execute sleepyhead.exe
6. The Google Drive cloud keeps everything in sync.
Again, I need to test more when downloading daily data from the XPAP's SD card.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
Ok, if bwexler's not afraid to be wrong, I'm not either, so here goes. Disclaimer: I am very new to Sleepyhead. I "think" sleepy head puts the data from your card into a sleepyhead folder in your documents. I "think" you could copy that folder from your laptop onto a suitable medium (or to the cloud) and open it with sleepyhead on your desktop when you get back (File>import data>select folder). I "think".
edit: Coolbranch, I see you posted a solution while I was posting. I think the two are similar, mine just installs sleepyhead on both computers.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
Maybe you are right about where the data goes each morning when imported from the SD card to the folder in my documents. I may need to drop the My Documents folder on the Google Drive folder to make it work. However if computer users install Google Drive on each of their computers and setup so the local copy syncs with the cloud, then only one copy of Sleepyhead needs to be installed on one computer. The Google Drive sync copies of the SH program to all workstations in the Google Drive folder. Looks like to me that Sleepyhead does not install into the Windows program x386 folder, it simply runs from a folder that it was extracted to. Thanks for bouncing the ball back on this. My work requires me to travel some and I am trying to find a solution that includes my laptop.

Right, since there is no installer included with the present release, it just goes where you put it. I extracted mine to the x86 folder and it created the folder, "SleepyHeadData-Testing", in "My Documents".

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
You are correct Jay. The SH import folder in My Documents must be there when importing from SD card. It also would be best to install SH on each workstation. One can run SH from the Google drive but must copy/paste the daily import to the Google Drive folder in order to make it work and stay in sync on all workstations. Thank you for your help. I hope this thread will find a programmer to help script a solution.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
Coolbranch, if you don't lose your data by not downloading every 7 days like I do with ResMed, why not just install sleepyhead on both computers and download and read your card with whichever computer you happen to be using? Any gaps in data on that machine would be filled at that time.
Again, we're simul-posting.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
Jay, I am able to keep data a little longer on my PR Remstar Auto. Most importantly, I am importing oximeter data that I need to track graphs over a longer period. I am not enjoying the readings of the oximeter import and may need to show to cardio doctor. I guess I am a freak about making this sync thing work anyway.
Thank you very much for your input Jay.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
YES! I have Sleepyhead up and running and remaining in sync on all the computers I use with the Google Drive for PC installed on them.
Warning Make copies first: (Then MOVE, yes MOVE) your Sleepyhead program folder wherever you have it and the SH data folder usually located in "My Documents". I moved mine to the Desktop. Keep them there while testing to restore in case you have a problem.
Then I created a Google Drive account in the Cloud.
Then I installed Google Drive for PC on my home computer. This will create a folder (Google Drive) and will be located in C:\Users\"your user name folder"
Copy both the SH program folder and the SH data folder that you moved to your desktop to the local Google Drive folder in the location I described above. "Allow some time for all files to completely sync to the cloud." (You should to be logged in to your Google account and Google drive.)
Look in the SH program folder located in Google Drive for PC and find sleepyhead.exe and pull a shortcut to your desktop.
Click open the shortcut. A message will popup saying that "no sleepyhead data folder was found. Would you like to use the default location for storing its data?" (See attached URLhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5iQBP ... sp=sharing for screenshot) Click NO! Direct SH to the local Google Drive folder and select the data folder you dropped there.
Now, when you import your data from the xpap SD card it will be imported to the data folder in the Google Drive for PC folder as well as sync to the Cloud.
If you have another computer such as a laptop when traveling, all you need is a copy of Google Drive for PC on the laptop and all your Sleepyhead data will remain in sync and up to date. No more cutting and pasting and all the confusion keeping your SH program up to date.

Re: Running Sleepyhead on two computers
I do this with Dropbox, between my Mac, Windows and Linux boxes..
Just remember to let the cloud sync process finish (on both computers, up and down) before starting on the other one.
I've just added in Lockfile capabilities to the 0.9.7 branch to make it a little safer to use on multiple computers.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Sir Noddinoff? Pretty darn good. Yes sir, thanks for your kind comment. I PayPal-ed Mark this morning with a C-note. When Mark awakens from 'down under' in the morning, he will have something to smile about.
