Type 3 sleep study question.

Post by blackrock » Tue May 13, 2014 7:46 am

How does a type 3 sleep study know when you fell asleep? I had one done last october and it gives me a sleep efficiency time. basically time spent sleeping/time with the machine on. If there are no EEG what is the machine using to detect I am asleep?

Your breathing patterns change when you sleep... unless I misunderstand this (what is a type 3 study)?.

This has a chest band and pulse oximeter, right? If so, I assume they are basing the info on your breathing patterns as measured but he chest band.
