Preheat water before use ~ Dry mouth
Preheat water before use ~ Dry mouth
Hello People,
Three week ago I started to preheated my humidifier water before bed. I found that it has helped my dry mouth issues.
I'm curious if you preheat or not?

How can you tolerate mouth breathing with a nasal mask???letsride wrote:Hello People,

I switched right away to a full face mask and things improved dramatically.

Love the S9 w/ climate line...aprox. an hr before turning in ,i turn the dial where it says hold down for 3 sec. to heat water to 75.
always used the passover mode before...the current way works better for me . albuteral inhaler is helping my sinus/ respiratory also.

Using the warm up on the H5i humidity tank is awesome during dry winters.

In my opinion, you're actually making your problem worse.......mouth-breathing. That's the source of your dry mouth. Warm humidification can actually make it worse.letsride wrote:Hello People,

I've used cool, "passover" humidification since I started nine years ago.......year-round. And, I use a full face mask.....and I am no longer a mouth-breather, which I was before I started therapy. I can't stand warm, humid air when I'm sleeping.
Also, if you're congested, do nasal cleansing before bedtime.

No, after taking care of most of my breathing stability issues I stopped using a humidifier.letsride wrote:Hello People,

However, I think that the "feel" of the air likely helps you establish good volume as you start to use the machine.
Frankly, if you find something that works...

How does one do this preheat? Which knob?

Link, if you are using the climate line hose . just turn the dial on the S9 -1 click to the right & you will see a visual where it says hold down for three sec. to start heating up humidifier.... This is the scroll dial on right beside the info & settings buttonsLinkC wrote:How does one do this preheat? Which knob?

I don't preheat, my hubby does. I guess its just a personal preference. I like cool air to breathe. My humidity setting is at 1, hubby prefers 5, again preference
I think I've conquered mouth breathing. Perhaps more luck than work - found the right mask. But I did try to train my tongue to remain on the roof of my mouth, and I believe that helped too.

I recently started brushing my teeth before bed using "Biotene" toothpaste. I suffered terribly with dry mouth before I started using this. Now, it's completely gone. Great product that does exactly what it's advertised to do.

Got it, Deerslayer!
I've never noticed the little finger at the bottom, urging me to press for 3 seconds. Thanks!
