Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
As the title says, I'm looking for a new mask. I've been going steady the Eson for about a year and half and it still works for me most of the time. The ESON and I hit it off early in my CPAP journey. But now I wanted to see if there was another mask out there that I could have a fling with.
My requirements are:
Nasal
Small sized/small profile. Most masks I've tried were too big for my face.
Air vent diffuser - This is one of the things I like about the ESON, no gusts of air blowing on me
No nasal pillows or prongs. I didn't have any success with nasal pillows/prongs. All of them were too big for my nose, even the smallest size.
Lightweight
I'm a side sleeper
I have a ResMed S9 my pressure is 4-16, averages about 12 most nights
I'm intrigued by the cloth masks. Any feedback on the Elan or the Advance? I've also been looking at the Nano and the Wisp
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
Everyone is so different in their likes/needs when it comes to masks! I am sad you couldn't get the pillows to work for you - I have the swift fx for her and ADORE it! So nice to have no obstructed vision or feel claustrophobic.
I have only been on CPAP about two weeks, but my first "hoorah" with a mask was the Wisp. Personally, I hated it because at times it made me feel my nose was getting blocked/stuffed up by the mask, and I couldn't turn on my side without breaking the seal. Also, I started getting a sore on my nose. It sounds like your nose is pretty small and the greAt thing about the Wisp is it comes in a petite, sm/m and large size. The nasal part is meant to sit lower on your nose and the base sits close to your upper lip. It is very small in general, very low profile. The headgear is comfortable, easy to adjust and the pillow area that creates the seal is very soft. It is meant to be worn fairly loose and the air inflates it creating a seal.
I really wanted to love the Wisp but it just wasn't for me. I am not one who can tolerate things so small around my nose. It is a good mask and seems well thought out. You should give it a try!

Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
Hi there,
I use the a Wisp and I love it! The Aloha mask is a great nasal pillow mask but it was making puffy under the eye bags on me. That is why I switched to the a Wisp. It is a very comfy nasal mask. I don't like the MASSIVE headgear but it stays in place all night. I am strictly a side sleeper. Hope this helps,

Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
I love the Elan but fortunately, due to my nasal issues, it doesn't love me. However, once I am given the go ahead to use a nasal mask after my planned nasal surgery in March, I will definitely be giving this one a shot.
I like it because I don't have to severely tighten the straps to have a reasonable leak level. And the cloth feels great on my face.
Best of luck.

Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
I just tried the Sleepweaver Advance for the first time last night. LinkC generously sent it to me free of charge. I must say, the first night was impressive.
I really like it. Air diffusion is much better than my Swift FX. I don't think it is the newer model with the improved seal but had relatively little issues with leaks. Sleepyhead graph looked good this morning. I also like to sleep on my side and found I can let this mask push into the pillow without having sealing issues. My AHI was the lowest it has been since starting CPAP three weeks ago. Some of it may be due to being able to sleep on my side more. I have been using the Swift FX which has worked out well for me also. I am going to give teh Sleepweaver a couple more nights and may turn in one of my Swift FX mask for one of the Sleepweaver mask while I am still in my 30 day trial. I have another Swift from my sleep study so I will still have that available.

Credit goes to Lily Roseglad. She sent it to me for trial. I think I can speak for both of us that we're glad someone can use it. (even tho it's pink! Lol)

Love the swift fx Nano nasal mask. I have had a number of 0.0 AHIs with this mask and a chin strap.
Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone - I have an appt to pick up an AirFit P10 for a trial and see how that works for me, if not i'll likely try the Wisp next.

Check that P 10 headstrap carefully. It is NOT adjustable so if you have a smaller head it may not work. It will only stretch out and get bigger. Also make sure the bands are not too close to the eyes. That could be very annoying, good luck and let us know,

I love the nose piece on the wisp but the headgear is awful. It's really big and hard to adjust. I will be headed towards a Resmed for Her in another week. Just haven't decided which one.

Re: Looking for a new mask. Any suggestions?
I'm starting my 4th week of my 4 week trial on CPAP, so still new to this, but thought I'd weigh in. I've tried several masks: Wisp, Pilairo, Nano and Quattro FX
I'm leaning towards settling on the Wisp. The headgear looks large, but I barely feel it when it is on. And I'm bald, so all parts of it are felt There are 2 versions of the headgear - and I tried it with the fabric version. I used for over a week straight.
The Pilairo pillow mask was good, but I only tried it for a couple of nights. I did find that some mornings my cheeks would feel flush where the silicone straps touched them. I also found that the pillows did bother my nostrils a bit, not sure if that would get worse or if I'd get used to it. My wife found that the venting was strong and bothered her. They did say at the sleep centre there is a newer model with a filter that dissipates it a bit.
I found that the Nano it leaked the least (when on my side, the push of the pillow against it did not usually break the seal). When it did leak, it was a bit noisy.
After a few hours, I would find that it would inch upwards and the bottom edge of the cushion would push into my nose. One night, one nostril felt congested and when the cushion worked its way up, it tended to block the other one. I used it for 6 nights.
I'm trying the Quattro FX now to see how I'd do with a full face mask - mainly to think of as a backup for when my allergies get bad (or a cold) and I can't breathe through my nose - a definite issue at certain times of the year. Only one night on it so far. Seemed okay, but no good for side sleeping and my wife said it was louder than the others. I've only used it one night (last night) so will give at least one or two more nights. I still have the Pilairo on loan, so I'll likely give it another few nights.
(He was going to give me a different one - maybe the Quattro Air, but I wanted one that didn't touch the forehead)
I end my trial on Thursday, so I'll likely need to decide at that appointment. I did want to try the AirFit, but they don't have it yet.
