Thanks jim203w. I will need one of these down the road and now that I have saved it, I won't have to hunt for it when I need it.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

Great information here. I travel for work and now that I have my CPAP machine I will have to take it with me. I like the resources available in this thread for tagging the bag. TSA agents are not the smartest people in the world and I was wondering if I would have to reduce my carry-ons to allow the CPAP machine to get allowed on the plane.

Cpap does not count as a carry-on; but this USA only, other countries have their own rules.

I just came through security. I had a printed-at-home medical device tag that I taped to a luggage tag. They glanced at it- said "is that a breathing machine?", and I nodded. Nothing else, they didn't even open it. (All my plastic bags for nothing )....

Don't get rid of the plastic bags just yet.

Although it is getting less & less common, there are still a couple of airports that either make you take the machine out of the bag or at least open it.

Problem is the same airport will do it different at different times.
Might be just new TSA guys who don't know better yet.

Or perhaps they are being unpredictable, as they are supposed to be!

Oh, I DID think of that.

But, if that were the case, EVERY airport would also be "unpredictable".
And that is NOT the case.

Perhaps, they are just not reading the same manual?

How many shifts at how many airports for how many hours did you observe them to come that conclusion?

And how much was your bail when they noticed you studying their non-routine routine?
