If you'll notice, I didn't use the word "ALL". I try not to use "absolutes"......cause there's just no accountin' for some folks.Pugsy wrote:Not this hard core nasal pillow user. Long story there that I won't bore people with.
Do the best you can with what you have to use. Yes, some people do use a FFM in these situations but if you don't have one right now you can't get one anytime soon. Tomorrow at best if your DME will do it.Suzannaor wrote:How ever am I going to sleep tonight with my mask?
Do whatever you can to lessen your symptoms with oral decongestants or nasal rinses or even a tiny, tiny bit of Afrin.
Does a hot shower help your breathing? If so, turn up that humidifier so it delivers more moisture. Moisture helps the nasal mucosa reaction of swelling...moisture helps reduce the swelling. Get some Simple Saline and use it frequently during the day. Keep the nasal mucosa well hydrated during the day too.
This is what I have done and I have slept about as well as I would with a cold even without needing cpap. It isn't great but I did get through it. Normally the worst part is the first couple of days or so.
By the same token, I've never been able to imagine being able to sleep with things shoved up my nostrils or leaving my mouth uncovered.
