a month later...
okay, maybe a couple more days than a month but who's really counting, lol, anyways this past month flew by, so far the noticeable differences are a little more energy, not as much as i'd like but i still got a long way to go, not as much daytime sleepiness, although today was a bad day for me, i actually had a few instances where i got really sleepy while i was driving, had to stop and walk it off, early this morning i saw that the machine had gone up to 17-18 cm's while sleeping, it's usually from 10-15 when i check up on it a few hours before wakeup time, i guess it was my first really bad night of many more to come.
i really really need to get my stuff together and get the reader and the software so i can read my card and maybe see what went wrong, also as i was reading my script i noticed that it said in fine print on the bottom "length of necessity - 99 months-life" sounds like a prison sentence, lol, and i guess it finally hit me that i'm prolly going to have to live with this stuff forever, kinda made me feel a little depressed, but i guess i'll bounce back. it's just the thought of 99 months to life that struck me with a finality, it's scary.
anyways, sorry for the book just thought i'd share my little tidbit of info, wow, the first month of many more to come is behind me, at least i know i can tolerate it rather well, i just wonder if i will be able to complete my sentence.

With the machine you're probably "sentenced" to a longer healthier life. Not such a bad deal, is it?
Keep it up and congratulations.

RT,
Yeah, it IS kind of intimidating.....thinking about spending the rest of our lives attached to the machine at night. I can still recall the feeling when it first hit me (probably the first night). BUT, I can think of a lot worse alternatives, so I've put it out of my mind and concentrate on how much better I'm feeling.
If you get the card reader and software, it'll help a lot.
Hang in there!
Best wishes,
Den

Welcome aboard.. It will be a ride we will all take together, so smile . Thats what I think when it hits me just how life changing it is but I think of the millions who are doing this. I don't know your relaxing techniques but here is something I felt like sharing with you as I know where you are coming from. I just finished a couple tapes called Breathing "The Master Key to Self Healing" by Andrew Weil, M.D. There were lots of points he brought out of ways we do not breathe properly. It was amazing how relaxing it was..with music...and exercises. It cost $19.95 and it was well
worth it. I want to try to do theses exercises 2 x day. I know it want heal completely but maybe it will make me more conscious of my breathingthus become stronger. He has a website if you are interested. I also am in the 11-15 cm range..

Upper right hand corner of the message, just next to the "quote" button is the "report spam" link. It links you directly to mission control in Houston, ... oooop, wrong story, I mean, forumdamin, for the sole purpose of reporting things you consider spam.
And forumadmin will take it off your thread.
(No need to report this one, I have).

The 99 months or lifetime need does read like a prison sentence... but it's okay! Your prescription is written in the format of an LMN (letter of medical necessity) to allow for supply items to be replaced as needed. It may also list "Dx: OSA or 780.53". Meaning: diagnosis Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
