First 0.0 ahi night last night 8.5hrs on ASV

Post by johnthomasmacdonald » Sat Sep 07, 2013 6:09 pm

Over the last 7 days I've been averaging 0.4. I do need to include my dental apparatus to get the numbers this low. Without the dental I'm around ahi 5 and have significant nocturia. With the combination I slept straight through the night with no awakenings. I'm a sample group of just one, but i find the Resmed S9 Asv with auto Epap to be by far the best machine i've used - compared to the Resmed ASV adapt enhanced and the Respironics DS950 that also has auto epap. It's is much more comfortable than either - i'm barely aware that i've got anything on and i almost never wake up. I love it. It was nice to get the 0.0! and a smily face on sleepyhead. It's only with the help of people here in the forum that i was able to figure out how to get this to work for me. Thanks again.

Yes indeed, it's been a long hard road, and you're still on it (so much for that metaphor *smile*). Congratulations for getting as far as you have, getting the right equipment and staying with it so that you can be healthier!

Just curious... is your dental apparatus a teeth grinding preventer? I might be in the market for one myself.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I happy to see you're having success!!!

It is very interesting to see each person that receives a newer model ASV begins to have amazing results.

No, this dental apparatus was one that was specially built to "cure" sleep apnea - my in hospital sleep test indicated that it had no affect on my apnea when it was used alone but i find that when i use it with cpap, i can use much lower pressure and get my ahi numbers far lower than by the machine alone

and it seems a real Improvement rather than a reporting issue since I sleep so much better and my having to get up for urination drops from as much as 10 trips to zero. This machine is so good that i can't conceive of it being any easier or pleasant - the sleep technician at my asv titration said that if they gave these machines to everyone he thinks it would save a huge amount of money in the long run since he never sees these patients again - the therapy works for them and they love the machine, they don't keep coming back trying to find something that will work for them
