Why No Forum Categories?

Post by tattoohead » Tue Jul 23, 2013 3:49 pm

Hi,

New member here and the first thing I do is complain... Image I know..

But I was wondering, why is there no categories to this board? Only topics! Am I missing a board setting somewhere?

You are not missing anything.....most like it the way it is. There have been discussions about this before.

If you use the search function you will see that this is discussed to death about every 2 months.

Ok, thanks for replying.

I'll probably get used to it, seems a little hectic at the moment though.

Anyways, glad to be a member. Have been using a CPAP machine for roughly 10 years or so. Image

Will be searching for some of the answers I'm looking for and will be happy to help when I can. Image

One of the reasons is that it would be counter productive. Issues usually overlap. Problems might be asked about the machine when the real issue is the mask or the hose or the attitude and vice verso.
By keeping all the threads together people SEE the threads that they might be able to help with even if they only come to be sociable.

It keeps posts from sleep-deprived, panicked newbies from getting lost and thereby allows timely replies to important questions about a lifesaving therapy.

Well, that, . . . AND it gives us something to fight about every few months.

Either way, welcome.

If you embrace the anarchic chaos of the seemingly unconnected threads, you will eventually find it all as serenely comforting as one of them-there golden-ratio-Fibonacci-spiral thingies after a while.

I like the lack of structure; it helps me feel comfortable.
It's a bit like a church social, with several conversations going on all at once.
if you walk in, just sit down and chime in.
If you come in with a problem, you will soon have more attention than you could ever expect.
