Does she really want this role and this part?

I don't find this especially entertaining, "liberal" yes.

We're are all (mostly) so soft, kind and not 'judgmental' here. Laissez-fair. Live and let live.

How do you feel about what someone in school has selected for your young daughter, mom? Did they ask for your concurrence? Did you readily and CONFIDENTLY agree to go along? If so, why, pray tell. What wisdom might you be trying to instill in your child. Remember, she is still a rather young child. C-h-i-l-d. Child.

My fear is that our "liberal"-ness has gone more than a bit much and our children aren't as likely to be as healthy as a consequence. That's my personal point of view.

Another way to put it, although perhaps with a slightly different slant, is how the French put it (although she is still very young), "Vive la difference!" I say give you kid a break, mom.

She is 24 and out on her own. She acts and sings and dances, she directs and she is overjoyed to have a lead role in a G&S production- she has an alto, there are very few female lead roles in G&S for altos. Both her mothers and her biological father are proud of her abilities and choices in her life. Her current boyfriend is a musician. And yes she leads when she dances, all of us do.

Yes me too!
The latest murmurs are "We are going to do it a 'girls school production'" and "it would be fun to freak people out with girl on girl love scene" Apparently no guys auditioned.
Yup... your daughter is definitely part of the new generation.
New generation????

I knew plenty of people who enjoyed g-on-g fifty years ago.

Oh it's older than the 50's and even older than the 1800's

But for New York it started in 1896

"New York City's theater world has always had a strong gay element, both on and off stage. Though the list of Broadway's (and Off-Broadway's) gay accomplishments and scandals is long, here are a few key highlights from the past 100+ years.

1896 The play A Florida Enchantment opens at Hoyt's Theatre (24th St., at Broadway), and for the first time on an American stage features two women kissing; at intermission ushers offer ice water to patrons who feel faint." -WIKI

I'd love to see her in this production. She is quite beautiful and sounds like a well grounded 24 year old. Both moms and bio father have much to be proud of! Let us know when Hollywood calls.
