I will start with a few basic ones.

1 - When the program starts, it continuously accesses the floppy drive, I presume for the purpose of finding a card reader. As I am connected with a cable, It never stops searching. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

2 - I understand from the manual that the ResMed AutoSet Spirit hold 365 days of info, and the last 5 nights of "Night Profile" data. It seems that you must wait until after noon for the next session to begin in order to download the previous session? Also, is there a limitation of 5 nights data in the software? It seems that "Night Profile" data is only stored for the last 5 nights. I want to accumulate "Night Profile" data on an ongoing basis. Also, the download behavior appears erriatic in regards to what day's data is available when.

Any help would be appreciated

Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks for writing. You are correct about it searchinng constantly. That part cannot be stopped.

If you do a download you can save the data that you download and add to it. This will give you a longer profile.

To seperate sessions, turn the machine off in the back, and then back on. That will split the sessions.

Regards,

Ted

I would have thought that I would be able to add to my data, but what is happening is that when I download now, I do not get the data for the last two days. If I download into a "New Patient" file, I do get the summary data from the original start date and I do get the last 5 days of the night profile data. Of course, this new file does not have the night data prior to the last 5 days. I have tried uninstall/reinstall, and new downloading. What am I doing wrong??

Also, I do not see any detail data. The date on top of the screen is Jan. 1, 2002. I cannot find where to specify this date.

Also, when I download, I get a screen that says that the patient name in the file does not match the patient name in the flow generator (John Doe) How and where do I specify the patient name in the flow generator.

I have the same features, like a floppy drive that is online, etc... But if I want to download something, I will get a 0001 No Communications Failure. And then I can press OK en he stops.

create a patient and open that patient and download the data to it.

Just open the same Patient file before the download and the data will add to the last.

I believe the software gets the date from the APAP. If the date on your screen is wrong, the date in your machine is wrong. To change the date in the machine, press right + down at the same time for several seconds until the clinical menu appears.

Press enter on the clinical menu.

Press the down button until you see the "Options" entry and press enter.

Press down repeatedly until you see the "Date" entry.

There is a really stupid bug in version 5.4 which I have. If you download after noon, it will download data for the current day session even though it is blank or incomplete. When you download again in a few days, it won't overwrite this and so the session remains incomplete.

There is a setting under Download/Preferences to have the data from the CPAP overwrite the data already in the file, but if you use it, it will wipe out the Night Profile data and only summary data will be available for any date older than five days.

Data Download into AutoScan 5.7

Post by mdkohm » Sun May 07, 2006 5:37 pm

I was searching around and this is the closest thread to my problem.

I am using AutoScan 5.7 with my S8 AutoSet. I am trying to add data from last night to my patient profile. I have Night Profile data from the previous 5 nights already downloaded in the software, and I want to add last nights Night Profile.

When I download the data into my patient profile, it does not display last nights data. I created a back up of my profile and then changed the download preferences to OVERWRITE. Last nights data then appeard, but it overwrote older data with SUMMARY instead of the NIGHT PROFILE data that was there previously.

I also created a new patient record and downloaded the data. Last night appeard but I lost the NIGHT PROFILE data from nights before 5 nights ago.

Therefore I know the data is on the ResScan data card.

Is there a trick to adding new data and keeping previous NIGHT PROFILE data? I would like to keep all data that I download from my machine.

Thanks in advance. I am brand new (45 hours on my machine) and have found this forum to be invaluable.

I gave up around a year ago. What I do now is save a new file every 4-5 days. This way I have night data for every night. If you find out a better way, please let me know. From a software development point of view, this is very ugly.

I can't beleive that $150 software would operate this way.

It seemed to work the first time I tried to add new data - it appended the new information without deleting the old, but it won't do it for me now.

I'll keep trying and let you know. I wonder if it has anything to do with what time the data is copied from the machine (just thinking about the 12:00 deadline when data is moved so that another slot is open in the machine's memory).

How's this for a helpful piece of advice? I had exactly the problem you describe after my first five nights of downloaded data. Then I changed something and it works fine now. But I can't remember what I changed to fix it! Darn, I hate it when that happens. It was only a few weeks ago, too...

Brent, I am laughing loud enough at your post that others at work wonder whats wrong with me.

It sounds like your suffering from the same grade of Brain Fog as me. If you remember please let me know.

Thanks.
