Wake Up Time Question

Question about SD card data and wake-up time:

One of the first things I look at is how long I slept. Last night it says I slept 5 hours and 48 mins. But it says I woke up at 7:32. The problem is, it's not even 7:32 yet. How is the SD card getting this information that is clearly wrong?

PS. If you answer and I don't respond right away...ugh...today is a work day.

My machines time is out too......during daylight savings its out by an hour but always out by a few minutes. I don't let it bother me..whats a couple of minutes here and there.

How much is the time off?

The Respironics machines use an internal clock which is set to GMT time at the factory. We cannot adjust it.
SleepyHead uses the computer's internal clock to adjust the time to whatever time zone we are in. Most machines will be off a few minutes from real time and for older machines the time off will gradually increase because of the internal battery in the machine.

Encore Pro has a Time zone adjustment in the software. Encore Viewer uses the computer clock.

That is quite a bit for a relatively new computer. If it were 5 years old..internal battery getting tired...yeah we might expect that.
Watch your SleepyHead reports to make sure it is consistently 1/2 hour off just to make sure SH is being consistent.

This is a common occurrence with Respironics machines since we cannot access the internal clock to correct it.
Not much we can do about it though. For this reason I really don't pay attention to the clock times...I just look at time asleep and go on.

Yeah, but you know there is one good thing about not being able to change the clock....we don't have to go through all the hoops that ResMed users do with DST changes.

I was just asking about clock adjustments the other day since my machine is off also. Was trying to sync the time my new oximeter to my ASV, until Pugsy pointed out I was out of luck. Figured out a work around though if anyone else is interested. Hit record on the oximeter & power on your machine at the same time. Next morning looked at both reports and adjusted the oximeters time to match the machines, now their both synced with each other. It would be nice if you could adjust some of these times though.

To get the correct time for your sleep period, take a piece of paper and write down when you turn your machine on, when you wake up look at the clock write the time down.

As far as the computer clock you can have it lose time (normal), or leave it on and hooked to the WWW. and tell windows to adjust the clock for you. A XPAP isn't a clock it's got a clock in it, as a computer does for a internal reference, kind of close but no cigar. Jim
