so i recently upgraded to a full face mask because i was mouth breathing. i had in the past been using a medium swift fx mask. i have accumulated a ton of pillows in size medium. does anyone know if it is legal to sell these on ebay?
i had to pay for them as my insurance only covers 80% so i'd like to get some compensation. any thoughts?
thanks

Re: selling pillows on ebay
Since replacement mask parts do not require a RX then it is quite permissible to offer any mask parts on Ebay. There are a great number of sellers on Ebay doing that right now.

great, thanks for the response.
Re: selling pillows on ebay
Speaking of selling things on ebay, I once tried to sell my REMstar Passover Humidifier on Ebay, not realizing that it required a presecription. It's nothing but a plastic box that holds water (or can be used for organizing beads, screws or any other small items). What I don't understand is how can they justify requiring a prescription for a plastic container but not for a mask! Can someone please tell me the logic behind that? By the way, the Ebay police saw my posting and promptly sent me a nasty email indicating that they removed it.
Re: selling pillows on ebay
Full complete masks (headgear, hoses, cushions, pillows or whatever) do require a prescription but replacement parts do not require a prescription. So Ebay sellers have worked around the prescription rule by offering the mask parts individually or just minus one item so it qualifies for the "replacement" category. Same thing with cpap.com. Complete masks require the RX but replacement parts do not. Stupid regulation yes.. but it is what we have to live with.Lew56 wrote:What I don't understand is how can they justify requiring a prescription for a plastic container but not for a mask!
Like who in their right mind would want to use this stuff if we didn't have to......

!
I guess this doesn't apply to the cpap itself, since the parts, such as the passover humidifier, do require a prescription.Pugsy wrote:Full complete masks (headgear, hoses, cushions, pillows or whatever) do require a prescription but replacement parts do not require a prescription.

Yes, the cpap machine as well as the humidifier do require a prescription but parts themselves do not.Lew56 wrote:I guess this doesn't apply to the cpap itself, since the parts, such as the passover humidifier, do require a prescription.
Hose...no RX....filters..no RX...the replacement clear plastic water tank...no RX.
Again a pretty stupid requirement for the Humidifier. Just more FDA government regulations that someone left common sense out of the picture.
